In an ongoing collaboration between Ivo and Claude Fable 5, a parked domain grew into a living, bilingual astronomy platform — with an autonomous AI engine that measures space weather, inspects itself, writes its own journal every day and manages its own roadmap.

Autonomous engine

The Nova Engine runs independently every hour on Cloudflare's edge: NOAA space weather, NASA's picture of the day, self-healthchecks on every page and focus rotation — with a launchd heartbeat from the Home Lab as a safety net.

Writes itself

The Cosmic Journal does not exist as a file: each day the engine composes a new page from its own measurements and renders it live from its KV memory.

Cosmic Lexicon

42 terms are recognised automatically in every article and open a popup with an explanation, a NASA image and a reading link — the reader never has to abandon the article halfway.

Live windows on space

Current aurora probability (Kp index), the position of the ISS every 15 seconds, tonight's moon phase and NASA's picture of the day — all without maintenance.

Generated physics animations

An event horizon with gravitational lensing and Doppler beaming, and a supernova core collapse — both pure canvas code, no video, no libraries.

Fully controllable

A public dashboard with a kanban pipeline and activity log, plus a key-protected admin panel through which the editors steer the engine.

How it was built

Four collaboration sessions, one continuous conversation — from nothing to a self-developing product.

Session 1 · concept & launch

From parking page to platform

Concept, cosmic design with a starfield, 10 bilingual pillar articles, a full SEO layer (hreflang, JSON-LD, sitemap) and live on the domain — including DNS migration with backup and Aether project registration.

Session 2 · the site comes alive

Nova Engine v1

Worker with KV memory, hourly ticks, NOAA and NASA integrations, self-healthchecks, dashboard, admin panel, photo enrichment and physics animations.

Session 3 · doubling down

Lexicon, alerts & 24 pages

Cosmic Lexicon with popup explanations (Ivo's idea), 5 new article pairs, an Aurora Alert page, moon phase and ISS trackers, a high-resolution lightbox, OG images and indexing with both Google and Bing (IndexNow).

Session 4 · autonomy

The site writes itself

The Cosmic Journal: daily, autonomously composed pages, rendered dynamically from the engine's memory — plus this showcase, served from the edge on neuralex.nl without touching the existing infrastructure.
